A Pentagon official last week was caught on camera saying the Second Amendment should be repealed and that guns should be forcibly confiscated from American taxpayers.
Guerrilla journalist James O’Keefe last week published a hidden camera exposé targeting Pentagon official Jason Beck, who works in the Office of the Secretary of Defense as associate director of Total Force Requirements and Sourcing Policy. It is Beck’s job to help craft policy for the Department of Defense.
Beck also told O’Keefe, who was undercover pretending to be Beck’s romantic interest, that he “writes the answers” for senior Pentagon officials at congressional posture hearings. The secretary of defense, undersecretary of defense, and top generals are sometimes grilled at these annual hearings about the military’s activities and policies.
During dinner with O’Keefe, Beck revealed he wants “to work on the state’s monopoly on violence” so that the state “is the only legitimate purveyor of violence.”But in order for this to happen, American taxpayers must be disarmed.
“I think we should repeal [the Second Amendment] and take [their guns] all away,” Beck said. “Whatever, just take them all.”
“I just don’t think we have a need for it,” Beck added, referring to the Second Amendment. At another point he stressed the government should be “repealing the Second Amendment, for sure.”
When O’Keefe asked how the federal government might logistically go about disarming the American population, the Pentagon official suggested mobilizing the National Guard to seize the firearms.
“I wonder if you would see a similar solution to school integration. You know, where they did have to mobilize the National Guard,” he said, adding that troops would have to follow “a lawfully given order” to seize guns from private citizens whether they agreed with the directive or not.
Throughout several clips Beck advocated for dismantling the Senate, abolishing the electoral college, packing the US Supreme Court, and opening America’s “racist” borders.
“Why do we need [immigration] quotas?” Beck asked O’Keefe rhetorically. “Why not just have an open border?”
To defend his stance, Beck claimed that terrorists have never entered the US through the border. He also stressed that the border wall is “disruptive environmentally” and that not letting people in is causing them to die in the desert.
“Tear down the wall,” declared Beck.
